Business Continuity Manager

The Business Continuity & Insurance Manager is responsible for leading the Company's insurance and business continuity programs to protect the organization from operational, financial, and strategic risks. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert for insurance coverage, claims management, business continuity planning, and operational resilience. The position is responsible for ensuring the Company maintains appropriate insurance protection, maximizes insurance recoveries, and develops a comprehensive business continuity framework to support critical business operations during disruptive events. As a large eCommerce retailer operating multiple data centers and fulfillment warehouses, the role will focus heavily on supply chain, logistics, technology, inventory, and operational risks. Particular emphasis will be placed on ensuring the company is adequately prepared for any Cyber risks and well as identifying and maximizing recovery opportunities for inventory-related losses, including inbound shipments, warehouse inventory, inter-facility transfers, and outbound customer shipments. This is a newly created position and will be responsible for establishing and maturing the Company's business continuity program and enhancing insurance governance, claims management, and recovery processes. INSURANCE PROGRAM MANAGEMEN TManage the Company's insurance portfolio, including policy administration, renewals, broker relationships, and carrier relationships .Review and evaluate insurance coverage to ensure policies remain appropriate for the Company's evolving operational, technology, logistics, and business risks .Identify coverage gaps and recommend enhancements or additional insurance solutions where appropriate .Serve as the Company's primary resource for insurance-related matters and risk transfer strategies .CLAIMS MANAGEMENT & RECOVER YEstablish and manage enterprise-wide processes for identifying, reporting, and pursuing insurance claims .Ensure all potentially insurable incidents are reviewed for recovery opportunities .Act as the Company's advocate in maximizing insurance recoveries and available coverage under all applicable policies .Coordinate claims from initial notification through final settlement, including documentation, carrier communications, negotiations, and recovery tracking .Review denied or partially reimbursed claims and pursue additional recovery where appropriate .Develop reporting and metrics related to claims activity and recovery performance .INVENTORY & LOGISTICS CLAI MSOversee insurance matters involving inventory losses throughout the supply chai n.Manage claims involving inbound shipments, warehouse inventory, inventory transfers, and outbound customer shipment s.Partner with Logistics, Finance, and Warehouse Operations teams to ensure inventory-related losses are identified, documented, and submitted for recovery when appropriat e.Establish controls and reporting processes to maximize recovery of inventory-related losse s.INCIDENT REPORTING & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COORDINATI ONDevelop processes to ensure potential insurance claims are identified and escalated promptly across the organizatio n.Maintain strong working relationships with Finance, Fulfillment, Facilities, Information Security, Human Resources, and Legal team s.Promote awareness of insurance reporting requirements throughout the organizatio n.BUSINESS CONTINUITY & OPERATIONAL RESILIEN CEDesign, implement, and maintain the Company's Business Continuity Program from the ground u p.Develop business continuity policies, standards, governance structures, and recovery plan s.Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and identify critical business functions, dependencies, and recovery prioritie s.Develop contingency and recovery strategies for operational, warehouse, logistics, technology, supplier, and facility disruption s.Coordinate continuity planning with IT disaster recovery capabilities and multiple data center environment s.Develop response plans for significant disruptions affecting fulfillment operations, inventory availability, transportation networks, and key facilitie s.Lead continuity testing, tabletop exercises, and recovery simulations, and track remediation activitie s.Provide training and awareness programs to strengthen organizational resilienc e.Support audits, assessments, and regulatory reviews related to business continuity and operational resilienc e.QUALIFICATIONS PREFERR EDBachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, Emergency Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related fiel d.5+ years of experience in insurance, claims management, business continuity, operational resilience, risk management, or a related fiel d.Experience managing insurance claims and carrier relationship s.Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and negotiation skill s.Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and levels of the organizatio n.Experience in eCommerce, retail, logistics, warehousing, distribution, or supply chain environment s.Experience managing inventory, transportation, cargo, or warehouse-related insurance claim s.Experience developing or managing a business continuity progra m.SUCCESS MEASUR ESAdequacy and effectiveness of the Company's insurance coverag e.Successful identification and recovery of eligible insurance claim s.Reduction in missed claim reporting opportunitie s.Total insurance recoveries achieve d.Successful implementation and maturation of the Business Continuity Progra m.Completion of business continuity planning and testing activitie s.Improved organizational resilience and recovery readines #J-18808-Ljbffr
