Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, encompassing initial assessments and physical health screenings, to establish a baseline for treatment.

• Document client progress meticulously from the initial consultation through the end of treatment to ensure continuity of care and effective communication with other healthcare providers.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment and recovery plans, accommodating the diverse needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.

• Facilitate engaging and therapeutic individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based methodologies to promote recovery.

• Monitor and assess client progress regularly, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed and providing feedback to clients and their families.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical professionals, to coordinate comprehensive care.

• Manage referrals efficiently to ensure that clients receive the specialized care they need.

• Support families and caregivers, equipping them with strategies to help manage their loved ones' mental health challenges.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and work diligently to prevent behaviors that hinder progress.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will primarily focus on clients grappling with a range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. You will work with individuals of all ages, tailoring your therapeutic approach to meet the specific needs of children, adolescents, adults, and families. Your expertise will play a vital role in fostering resilience and facilitating pathways to recovery for clients facing complex emotional and behavioral challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York state.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Proficient understanding and experience in using electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, to maintain client records and documentation.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience as a mental health counselor in community health settings is highly valued.

• Familiarity with diverse mental health conditions, treatment modalities, and recovery strategies.

• Knowledge of current best practices recommended by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Experience working with clients suffering from co-occurring disorders (mental health and addiction issues) is a plus.

• A deep understanding of psychopharmacology and the impact of prescribed medications on mental health.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Your annual salary will range from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
