Reference: PR/608470_1789738984Job Title: Head of Operations (Logistics)Location: Newark, NJ AreaA growing freight forwarding client of mine is seeking an experienced Logistics & Operations lead to oversee daily operations across international freight forwarding and supply chain activities. This role will be responsible for leading and developing a growing operations team while ensuring the efficient movement of import and export shipments across multiple modes of transportation, including air, ocean, and ground freight. This position will oversee both the Operations & Warehouse for the site in the Newark, NJ area.The Logistics Operations Manager will manage workflow, drive operational excellence, and provide guidance, training, and support to team members. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of international logistics, customs processes, regulatory compliance, and freight forwarding operations, with the ability to solve complex transportation challenges and maintain high service levels for customers. Oversee daily import, export, customs, and freight forwarding activities across all transportation modes.Manage operational workflows, shipment visibility, and issue resolution to ensure efficient execution.Collaborate with carriers, customs brokers, vendors, and customers to support seamless transportation processes.Ensure compliance with applicable customs regulations, trade requirements, and company procedures.Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and team performance.Support employee training, onboarding, and professional development initiatives.Monitor key performance metrics and implement best practices to drive operational success.Partner with leadership to support business growth and scaling of operations.Manage the Warehouse Supervisor & warehouse employeesQualifications:Significant experience within freight forwarding, international logistics, supply chain, or transportation operations.Strong knowledge of import/export processes, customs regulations, and global transportation networks.Experience managing teams, coordinating workflows, and driving operational performance.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Experience across air, ocean, and ground freight transportation preferred.Ability to work onsite in the Newark, NJ area
