Position Summary The Staff Accountant will play an integral role in supporting the accounting and financial reporting functions for multiple long-term care facilities. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and contributing to a team committed to financial excellence. Key Responsibilities General Accounting Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger activity. Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate variances. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes. Support financial statement preparation and reporting. Maintain supporting schedules for balance sheet and income statement accounts. Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations. Financial Reporting Support the preparation of monthly financial reports for multiple locations. Ensure timely and accurate reporting for leadership. Assist with financial analysis and variance reporting. Help maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Audit & Compliance Assist with annual financial audits and prepare requested schedules. Maintain organized accounting documentation and supporting records. Ensure compliance with internal controls and established accounting procedures. Support regulatory reporting and multi-state accounting requirements as needed. Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and efficiencies. Assist with special projects and system enhancements. Collaborate with finance and operational leaders to improve reporting accuracy. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 2-5 years of accounting experience. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience preparing reconciliations and journal entries. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines. Preferred Experience with Sage Intacct. Experience working in healthcare, long-term care, or multi-entity organizations. Knowledge of GAAP and internal accounting controls.
