Job Opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses for a 12-hour day/night rotating contract in a medical-surgical oncology unit. Candidates may be scheduled for day shifts, night shifts, or a combination based on departmental needs. Shift assignments are evaluated every four weeks, subject to staffing requirements.

Patient Care Focus

The oncology unit primarily serves patients with the following care needs:

• Continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration
• Management of soft tissue malignancies, including diagnostics and chemotherapy
• Symptom management associated with disease treatment or progression
• Management of comorbidities

There is a significant emphasis on infection prevention protocols and reducing patient falls.

Special Equipment

• B450 monitors GE telemetry system
• Bladder Scanner
• Alaris pumps
• Stryker beds

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Certifications: BCLS
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Previous travel experience preferred
• EPIC experience required

Essential Skills

• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Accessing Port devices
• Arterial line management
• Blood product administration
• Central line care and management
• PICC line management
• IV start techniques
• Assist with chest tube insertion and removal
• High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) use
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)

Work Schedule

• Day Shift: 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
• Night Shift: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
