This position reports to the Billing Supervisor. The candidate must be flexible to work overtime as needed.Position SummaryThe Legal Billing Specialist will be responsible for the full life cycle of the invoice preparation process while ensuring that all invoices are accurate, compliant with client requirements, and submitted in a timely manner. This role demands strong analytical abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with attorneys, clients, and administrative staff.Key ResponsibilitiesEdits Prebills via Prebill Viewer and Aderant based on the request from the Billing Attorneys.Generates a high volume of complex client invoices via Aderant.Ensures that all invoices are compliant with the billing guidelines and that all required supporting documentation is compiled prior to submission.Submits ebills via EHub, including all supporting documentation.Monitors and immediately addresses any invoice rejections, reductions, and those needing appeals.Responds to billing inquiries.Undertakes special projects and ad hoc reports as needed and/or requested.QualificationsSkills & CompetenciesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor, and presentation.Effectively prioritize workload and adapt to a fast-paced environment.Highly motivated self-starter who can work well under minimal supervision, as well as take a proactive approach in a team setting.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Takes initiative and uses good judgment; excellent follow-up skills.Must be proactive in identifying billing issues and providing possible solutions.Must have the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships within all levels of the firm.Education & ExperienceBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance.Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Legal Biller required.TechnologyAderant or Elite/3E preferred, Prebill Viewer, E-billing Hub, Bill Blast.Proficiency in Excel required.Demonstrates a basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI), including core capabilities, limitations, and importance of data privacy, accuracy, verification, and ethical considerations within a professional services environment.Familiarity with or willingness to learn AI platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools) and incorporate them responsibly into day-to-day workflows to enhance daily work tasks as appropriate and/or directed.Proactive approach to learning and adapting to emerging AI and related technologies and contributes to a culture of innovation.Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move from workstation or desk throughout the work area to work independently or with a team to meet with colleagues or supervisor and retrieve work assignments.This position may also be sedentary and require the employee to sit for extended periods of time.Requires manual dexterity to use a phone, enter data into a computer, handle objects, and use office equipment.GT is an EEO employer with an inclusive workplace committed to merit-based consideration and review without regard to an individual's race, sex, or other protected characteristics and to the principles of non-discrimination on any protected basis.
