Principal Scientist, Translational Computational Biology

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a Principal Scientist in Translational Computational Biology to serve as the computational partner for oncology drug development programs. The role involves translating patient-derived molecular and clinical data into biomarker strategies, patient stratification approaches, and data-driven recommendations across discovery through early clinical stages, while building computational capability in spatial biology and AI-enabled translational science.

Responsibilities

• Serve as translational computational scientist for assigned oncology programs across discovery to early clinical development
• Develop biomarker strategy, patient selection approaches, and indication prioritization recommendations
• Analyze and integrate multimodal molecular, clinical, and translational datasets from oncology studies
• Support target validation, candidate selection, and IND-enabling decisions using patient molecular data
• Build reusable computational workflows and scalable analytical methods for spatial biology and translational science

Requirements

• Working knowledge of oncology drug development from target validation through early clinical trials
• Expertise in analyzing multimodal molecular datasets including RNA-seq, ctDNA, WES, and spatial transcriptomics
• Demonstrated understanding of biomarker strategy and patient stratification in clinical development
• Experience with translational data analysis and statistical methods for oncology research
• Ability to communicate complex computational findings to cross-functional development teams
• Familiarity with spatial biology platforms and multimodal data integration approaches
