Pump and Valve Mechanic

About the Role Disassemble, assemble and test hydraulic components. Job Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose and perform major and minor repair work on hydraulic pumps, motors, valves and other related hydraulic equipment and assemblies. Including dis‑assembly, assembly and testing of above components Operate a variety of hand, electric, and air‑driven tools as well as a variety of diagnostic instruments Test, troubleshoot, service and repair mechanical equipment Inspect, adjust and replace necessary parts in the performance of repair and maintenance work on hydraulic components Write‑up failure reports and bill of materials (BOMs) associated with the performance of repair and maintenance work. Assist in training and other requests as assigned. Shift Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm Pay $24.00 – $30.00 (Depending on experience) Qualifications Thorough knowledge of mechanics; considerable knowledge of hydraulics, pumps and valves Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to a shop working environment and repair activities Working knowledge of the practices, methods, materials and tools used in modern equipment maintenance Skill in operation of necessary tools and equipment Ability to diagnose and repair a variety of mechanical problems with hydraulic components and equipment Use of various hand and power‑driven shop tools Carry out assigned projects to their completion Communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and supervisors Lift 30 pounds Work Environment Manufacturing plant shop environment. Exposure to moving mechanical parts. Exposure to elements such as odor, hydraulic fluids, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals. Safety Shoes required. Other PPE equipment as required.
