School Registered NurseSalary range: Per contract hours: Monday - Friday 7:45am - 3:05pmThe following documents must be complete and current for application to be considered for this position:Online applicationLetter of interestResumeCopy of valid certification and/or licenseOfficial transcriptsThree current letters of recommendation (dated within one year of application)East Hartford Board of Education Nurses: Submit letter of interest only to human resources by closing date.Qualifications:Registered nurseB.S.N. preferred, not requiredValid state of Connecticut R.N. license to practice professional nursingCurrent certification in CPRReports to: Supervisor of Nursing ServicesJob goal:Implements the process and follow-up of diagnosing human responses to actual or potential health problemsTo provide the best physical and mental health care for all students thereby creating a climate of health and well-being in the district schoolsEducate staff and students in the appropriate use of services offered in the Health OfficeTo provide the fullest possible educational opportunity for each district student by minimizing absences due to illness and create a climate of health and well-being in the district schoolsPerformance responsibilities:Collaborates to develop programs that meet the identified needs of students, families and school personnelDelivers effective prevention programs and servicesCoordinates health services for studentsDelivers effective screening and assessment servicesDelivers a continuum of effective nursing intervention services from early intervention through crisis responseAssists students in monitoring and directing their personal development and capabilitiesDelivers effective referral and liaison servicesCollaborates and consults with other medical professionals to provide effective and efficient servicesEvaluates students' outcomes to ensure high-quality servicesExecutes the medical regimen under the direction of a licensed physician or dentistTerms of employment: Ten month year, unless noted. Salary and work year by contract.Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Supervisor of Nursing Services. Evaluation of school nurse is systematic, appropriate to meet the individual needs of evaluated staff members, and consistent with school nursing standards of practice.
