Job Summary The Respiratory Therapist 1 (RT‑1) is responsible for assessing patients and providing appropriate respiratory equipment or services. The role includes documentation, instruction, and troubleshooting of respiratory equipment, coordination with patients, families, and medical staff, and maintaining a safe and professional work environment. After one year, employees may be eligible for promotion to RT‑2 based on performance. Responsibilities Receive and document orders for respiratory equipment or services from customer service, patients, caregivers, physicians, or family members. Collect and verify additional information and documentation needed from insurance companies or physicians. Assess patient needs and determine the best respiratory therapy or services. Instruct and educate patients, families, and caregivers on proper use and care of respiratory equipment according to written policies and procedures. Communicate with patients’ physicians about changes in patient condition or needs and adjust the patient Plan of Care accordingly. Complete patient account paperwork including Plan of Care, treatment assessments, and other required documentation. Act as liaison between SuperCare Health, patients, families, caregivers, and physicians. Assume full responsibility for professional skills, attitudes, and actions. Follow all policies and procedures outlined by JCAHO. Follow up with respiratory patients and assist in continuity of care as required. Provide 24‑hour on‑call service, seven days a week, as scheduled. Set up respiratory equipment within the appointment/ETA given to ensure patient satisfaction. Provide services for the marketing department and all other departments as necessary. Demonstrate timeliness, courtesy, sincerity, and patience when dealing with patients. Support SuperCare Health by reporting concerns and problems to the office. Understand and adhere to all company policies. Remain knowledgeable to date on all products. Maintain a professional, safe, and clean work environment. Education and Experience Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (licensed RCP). Experience as a Respiratory Therapist. Thorough knowledge and skill related to respiratory care field. Excellent customer service and communication skills. People‑sensitive characteristics with a genuine desire to help others.
