Job Description

As a Security Officer Access Control in Detroit, MI , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and support a secure environment for employees, visitors, and operations. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly, and help deter security-related incidents through a professional presence. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific access-control policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points at a logistics and distribution location, verify credentials and authorization, and control entry and exit for personnel, visitors, and delivery vehicles.
• Maintain accurate visitor, driver, vehicle, and/or access records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
