Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational.Program Description: Goddard Riverside Community Center is working in collaboration with the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development and the New York City Housing Authority to provide Leadership opportunities and have knowledge of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) for young people 13 to 24 years old at our Teen Center location, Lincoln Square Neighborhood Center on the Upper Westside. Teen Center @ Lincoln Square Neighborhood Center is located within the Amsterdam Addition Housing Development and across from the Amsterdam Houses. The teen center operates seven days a week during the summer months.Position Summary: The GRCC Teen Center at Lincoln Square Neighborhood Center seeking a dynamic individual to oversee the day-to-day program activities and functions. The primary duty is to manage the programmatic and administrative aspects of the Teen Program in a manner consistent with DYCD and NYCHA guidelines.Schedule: Monday-Friday (5:30pm-11:00pm) Saturday-Sunday (3:00pm-11:00pm)Hourly Rate: $36/hrRole, Responsibilities, and Essential DutiesResponsible for providing administrative supervision of program and staffProgram OutreachOversee enrollment, engagement and retain teen participantsAssure the facilitation and enforcement of safety procedures in accordance with the program’s Safety Plan, DYCD & Department of Health Guidelines.Ensure timely and accurate data submission into the required data base (SharePoint enrollment and attendance tracking)Serve as a positive and engaging role model for participants and staffAlways maintain a high level of flexibility and professionalismPerform other duties as assigned.Qualifications/Educational RequirementsMust be able to pass the organizational background checkCurrent CPR/First Aid Training a plusCurrent DOE & DOH mandated trainings a plusExperience working with teensSkills, Knowledge and AbilitiesFamiliar with Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint & WordAbility to work independently and as a teamStrong leadership development with knowledge of STEMDemonstrated strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to be flexible with the childrenMust be PatientMust have a good sense of humor and enjoy working with childrenAdditional skills in music, dance, sports, etc. a plusMust be able to communicate effectively with parentsPhysical RequirementsFrequent bending, kneeling, walking –include participating in program activities with program participantsWork EnvironmentMainly Indoor/Outdoor /community center settingWe are committed to building an inclusive workplace community grounded in respect for differences.
