Position Overview The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is Kuehne+Nagel’s primary contact for any customer. The CSR intercepts faxed orders, keys orders into the system, and conducts follow‑up phone calls to requestors. The CSR is responsible for all communication between the various departments within Kuehne+Nagel and its customers, and must exercise the highest quality of phone etiquette. This position requires a high degree of quantifiable and qualitative results in accurate, complete, and timely response to internal and external DC reporting. The pay rate is $23.00/hr and the CSR works only Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm, with flexibility to work overtime. Responsibilities Process orders for material or merchandise received by mail, fax, e‑mail, EDI or telephone. Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of data to be entered. Examine records such as bills, computer printouts, bills of lading, and related documents, and inform customers of unit prices, shipping dates, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed using mail, e‑mail or telephone. Enter order into an automated system and compute total cost; record or file copy of orders received as requested. Confere with warehouse or carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments. Compile statistics and prepare various reports for management. Investigate overdue and damaged shipments or shortages for customers and/or carriers. Analyze complaints concerning billing or service rendered, refer failures to the designated department for investigation, and update customers in a timely manner. Provide back‑up support for all accounts other than the primary. Qualifications Experience with Windows‑based order entry systems. Minimum of two years’ experience in customer service. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Intermediate skills in MS Word and Excel. AS400 or other WMS experience helpful. Proficient data‑entry skills. Ability to follow through and provide excellent customer service. Strong problem‑solving skills. Ability to establish priorities and accomplish multiple tasks. Highly organized.
