Business Analyst III - Commercial Logistics

Job Title: Business Analyst III – Commercial Logistics Location: Houston, TX 77042 (Onsite – 5 Days/Week) Duration: 12 Months (Contract) Pay Rate: Up to $66.67/hour Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst III to join the Commercial Logistics Business Improvement team. The ideal candidate will support transportation management systems (TMS), SAP/ERP integrations, logistics process optimization, analytics, and business improvement initiatives. This role requires strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable business solutions that improve logistics operations and system performance. Key Responsibilities Support and monitor SAP integrations with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive timely resolutions. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for TMS platforms by providing user support, guidance, and knowledge sharing. Analyze operational data and create reports, dashboards, and insights to support data-driven decision-making. Collaborate with business and technical teams on system upgrades, ERP integrations, and logistics process improvements. Document business processes, system changes, workflows, and enhancement initiatives. Support strategic logistics improvement projects focused on transportation management and operational efficiency. Ensure high data integrity by monitoring critical logistics transactions and system data. Analyze end-to-end business processes and data flows to identify opportunities for automation and optimization. Work independently on moderately complex assignments while coordinating with stakeholders to resolve business and technical challenges. Prepare presentations and reports highlighting project progress, business impact, and improvement opportunities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting Transportation Management Systems (TMS), SAP, ERP platforms, and business process improvement. Experience with rail and truck logistics operations, including shipment tracking, carrier management, and freight optimization. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills. Experience documenting business requirements, workflows, process maps, and system interactions. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft 365 applications. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work onsite in Houston, TX, five days a week. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP R/3. Knowledge of vendor billing documents, shipment cost documents, nominations, and ticket actualization. Experience integrating Transportation Management Systems with SAP/ERP platforms. Strong understanding of end-to-end logistics data flows and reporting.
