Link Solutions is seeking a Cable Splicer Outside Plant (OSP)  to join our team at Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield, GA

• Must be a U.S. Citizen  
• Requires a DoD Secret Clearance 
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Non-remote (relocation incentive available) 

The Cable Splicer (OSP) will play a critical role in supporting and maintaining the telecommunications infrastructure serving the Southeast Region Cyber Support Center (SE RCSC). In this position, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic, copper, and coaxial cable systems that enable secure voice and data communications for mission-essential operations.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse communications network supporting Department of Defense initiatives while utilizing advanced telecommunications technologies and industry-leading practices. Job Responsibilities: 

• Install, splice, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic, copper, and coaxial cable systems supporting telecommunications infrastructure.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance activities to ensure optimal network performance and reliability.
• Locate, diagnose, and resolve cable faults, service interruptions, and connectivity issues.
• Install, maintain, and repair aerial, underground, and direct-buried communication cable systems.
• Perform fusion and mechanical fiber splicing and conduct testing using OTDRs, power meters, and other telecommunications test equipment.
• Read, interpret, and update cable records, engineering drawings, schematics, splice diagrams, and as-built documentation.
• Conduct cable audits and infrastructure inspections of manholes, handholes, pedestals, telecommunications closets, MDFs, IDFs, and outside plant facilities.
• Maintain telephone poles, conduit systems, manholes, handholes, and outside plant distribution equipment.
• Support cable route planning, cable placement, and infrastructure upgrades to improve network performance and capacity.
• Collaborate with government customers to identify operational requirements and recommend telecommunications infrastructure improvements.
• Respond to service requests and ensure assigned work orders and trouble tickets are completed accurately and within established timelines.
• Ensure compliance with BICSI standards, OSHA regulations, DoD requirements, and industry best practices.
• Maintain accurate work documentation, inspection records, cable inventories, and project status reports.
• Support telecommunications modernization efforts and infrastructure expansion projects.

Compensation:

• $29.42 per hour
• Full-Time (Monday-Friday)

This position is covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA). Compensation and benefits are provided in accordance with applicable wage determinations and contract requirements. Please see the Additional Information section below for benefit details.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance (clearance sponsorship available for qualified candidates).
• Five (5+) years of experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing outside plant (OSP) telecommunications infrastructure.
• Experience with fiber optic, copper, and coaxial cable systems, including installation, testing, and repair.
• Experience working with aerial, underground, and direct-buried cable plant environments.
• Experience reading and interpreting telecommunications drawings, cable records, splice diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of BICSI standards, telecommunications installation practices, and industry regulations.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and telecommunications industry best practices.
• Experience utilizing telecommunications test equipment, including OTDRs, optical power meters, cable analyzers, and fault-locating equipment.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot telecommunications infrastructure issues in a field environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles (acceptable driving record only).

Preferred:  

• Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Government, or military telecommunications infrastructure.
• Experience performing fiber optic fusion splicing, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
• BICSI Installer, BICSI Technician, or other telecommunications industry certifications.
• FOA Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) or equivalent fiber optic certification.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
• Experience maintaining as-built documentation, infrastructure records, and cable plant inventories.
• Experience supporting telecommunications infrastructure upgrades, modernization efforts, and expansion projects.
• Experience working with manholes, handholes, pedestals, duct banks, and outside plant distribution systems.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple work assignments in a fast-paced mission environment.
