Senior Insurance Defense Attorney

Northern New Jersey | Hybrid | $150,000-$180,000

An established regional litigation firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its Northern New Jersey practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a strong background in general liability, premises liability, casualty defense, or related civil litigation who is looking for meaningful case responsibility and the opportunity to continue developing a long-term litigation practice.


The attorney will handle a diverse caseload involving insurance defense and civil litigation matters, with a significant focus on premises liability and general liability claims .

What You'll Do

• Manage insurance defense and general liability matters from inception through resolution
  
  
• Handle premises liability, slip-and-fall and related casualty matters
  
  
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery and other litigation documents
  
  
• Conduct and defend depositions
  
  
• Evaluate liability, damages, exposure and settlement considerations
  
  
• Communicate with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel and other parties
  
  
• Participate in mediations, settlement negotiations and court appearances
  
  
• Develop litigation strategy and independently manage case deadlines
  
  
• Work collaboratively with experienced attorneys and legal professionals
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience handling insurance defense, general liability or civil litigation matters
  
  
• Significant experience with premises liability and/or slip-and-fall defense
  
  
• Active New Jersey Bar admission
  
  
• Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload
  
  
• Experience handling depositions, negotiations and court appearances
  
  
• Strong written, verbal and analytical skills
  
  
• Excellent case-management abilities
  
  
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative litigation team
