Payroll SpecialistWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in a fast-paced, service-driven mechanical contracting environment. This role is critical to ensure our team members are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations.The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, can manage competing deadlines, and understands the unique payroll demands of a service-based field workforce — including variable hours, union labor, prevailing wage, and multi-state tax considerations.This position is full-time on-site Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pmResponsibilities:Weekly payroll processing for hourly, salaried and executive level employeesFull awareness of union agreements, wages, benefits, holidays etc.Full knowledge of prevailing wage jobs, union dues, certified payroll and union reportsProcess all tax payments, garnishments, retirement, insurance and any other payroll related paymentsManage monthly, quarterly, annual and any other related payroll tax submissions/reportsFull knowledge of HR laws, regulations and requirements as pertaining to the CompanyAssist with Company Benefits, worker's compensation, renewals, audits, and associated reportsAssist with retirement program, payments, census, audits and related reportsOther payroll/HR related functions as business grows and developsMinimum Qualifications:Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED and 3 years' experience in payroll, or related field OR Bachelor's degree in business/accounting/HR or related fieldPreferred Qualifications3 years of payroll & HR experienceExperience with Jonas Construction Software strongly preferred – but not requiredExtreme attention to detail & ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment is necessaryAble to work with minimal supervision, make prompt & decisive decisionsProfessional, ethical & a team player willing to grow with the companyVerbal & written communication skillsAttention to detail and organizationProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, & OutlookRewarding Your Performance:Competitive salary, commensurate with experienceCompany paid vacation and holidaysCompany health care, vision, & dental benefits401k plan with Company matchCompany paid life insuranceEducation and training provided with monetary incentives available for education courses completedEligible for performance and company-based bonusesJob Type: Full-timePay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftWork Location: In person
