Senior Tax ManagerA seasoned tax professional with at least ten years of public accounting experience and strong leadership and technical review capabilities. Oversees tax engagements, performs final technical reviews, manages staff and workflow, and supports client relationships and business development. Full-time leadership role available immediately in Hobbs, NM. Competitive and commensurate with experience.The Senior Tax Manager provides technical leadership across complex tax engagements, ensures exceptional accuracy and compliance, develops and mentors staff, strengthens client relationships, and contributes to business development while upholding the highest standards of service and confidentiality.Key responsibilities include providing final technical review on tax returns and supporting documents, researching complex tax issues and preparing effective resolutions and recommendations, staying current on developments in tax law and accounting procedures, planning, scheduling, and managing client engagements to ensure timely completion, communicating directly with clients to ensure their needs and best interests are fully supported, leading and supporting staff by providing resources, setting objectives, monitoring budgets, and fostering a positive work environment, overseeing quality control and evaluating staff performance, assigning, tracking, and managing tasks and projects delegated to staff and supervisors, mentoring and developing staff and supervisors to strengthen team capabilities, building and nurturing internal and external networks to support new business opportunities, managing billing, collections, WIP monitoring, aging, and write-downs, and participating in and helping facilitate internal CPE and training initiatives.Qualifications include CPA certification preferred, minimum of ten years of public accounting experience, demonstrated leadership ability and strong people development skills, strong decision-making abilities with initiative and sound judgment, ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure, and excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage a heavy workload.
