Senior Actuarial Analyst - Remote

Senior Actuarial Analyst Remote working with a high degree of autonomy in a remote work environment, the Senior Actuarial Analyst provides contributions to the actuarial pricing and reserving group based on knowledge from the actuarial exam system and prior relevant academic or work experience. They will mentor Actuarial Analyst colleagues while applying their knowledge to actuarial analysis of personal lines in pursuit of solving problems to meet business objectives. Responsibilities Extract, manipulate, and validate data from relevant sources, and assess data quality. Perform analyses and reviews, complete ad‑hoc requests and special projects in a timely manner. Evaluate procedures and processes, suggest alternatives or improvements, and identify opportunities for increased efficiency. Identify automation opportunities for routine tasks and assess the impact of solution options. Maintain knowledge of current industry news and trends and consider their impact on the organization. Represent the company at external events including universities, actuarial clubs, industry organizations, and charitable causes. Commit to professional development and continuous experiential learning to build cross‑functional knowledge, technical skills, and mastery in competencies. Provide regular project updates to stakeholders and build trust with teams around the actuarial function. Contribute to the mentorship, training and development of actuarial analysts. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or another related discipline. Two years of actuarial experience, preferably in California personal lines. Completed a minimum of four actuarial exams and plan to continue toward fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society. Proficient SQL and data manipulation skills (asset). Strong oral and written communication skills. Intermediate knowledge of Excel, R, Python and/or other programming languages or actuarial software. Solid foundation in actuarial science, mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business knowledge. Ability to suggest solutions or alternative approaches to significantly material issues. Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments in a timely manner while proactively keeping leaders informed of progress.
