USPI delivers high-quality, lower-cost surgical solutions across an extensive network of hospitals. Its mission is to treat every patient and family as if they were their own. Website: Position Summary United Surgical Partners specializes in developing and operating Ambulatory Surgical Facilities nationwide. The CEO is responsible for directing, coordinating and controlling all operating functions, processes, and staff of the surgical hospital to efficiently provide surgical services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations. Additional duties may be determined by the Governing Board. Functional Expectations & Requirements Oversee the daily operation of the facility. Serve as a liaison between the Governing Board, the Medical Staff and all departments. Report pertinent activities to the Governing Board at regular intervals. Appoint a responsible person to oversee the facility in the Administrator’s absence. Plan services, operations and overall management as outlined in the Operating/Limited Partnership Agreement. Lead discussion/presentation during Monthly Operations Review calls with USPI’s Home Office Business Operations. Deploy and monitor USPI’s EDGETM foundation, ensuring integration within the QPI program. Ensure compliance with internal controls, USPI policies, and government regulations. Develop, monitor and control staffing, operations, capital and purchasing budgets. Negotiate and control external contracts with physicians, ancillary services, plant maintenance and purchasing agreements. Establish procedure pricing based on cost analysis and local market standards. Foster positive work relationships among all departments and act as a liaison between USPI’s Home Office and facility staff. Develop and enforce departmental policies and procedures. Monitor financial performance closely to avoid cash flow problems. Required Experience & Organizational Leadership Promote compliance of surgical programs and clinical services with regulatory body standards. Work with the Medical Director and Medical Executive Committee to evaluate and develop new surgical services. Manage clinical departments (nursing, central supply, medical records, housekeeping) and supervise contracted services. Ensure adequate function of surgical and patient‑care equipment. Develop and implement a sales/marketing plan and lead the facility’s sales team. Identify and develop new services for ambulatory surgery centers. Foster positive public relations. Administer a continuous quality improvement program and infection control efforts. Serve on the Quality Improvement Committee. Process credentialing of practitioners and collaborate on Medical Staff Bylaws. Promote positive relationships among employees, physicians and patients. Ensure a clean, safe, and professional physical plant. Represent the facility at corporate administrative meetings. Maintain membership in professional associations and stay current on healthcare changes. Lead personnel administration: conduct staff meetings, review performance, manage disciplinary actions, approve positions and applicants, analyze productivity, implement orientation programs, and maintain employee files. Promote professional development, dress code compliance, privacy and confidentiality. Candidate Experience, Attributes and Education Requirements Hold a bachelor's degree in health professions, business administration, public administration, or a related field (master’s or nursing preferred). Minimum three years’ experience in a senior administrative or management role in the health field. Strong verbal and written English communication skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively with physicians, employees, patients and other stakeholders. Qualifications Hospital experience with emphasis on surgical division. Minimum three years’ experience in a top administrative or management position. Good command of English (verbal and written). Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients, and others.
