Accounts Payable Clerk

Salary: R23 000 per month

Remote Recruitment is hiring an Accounts Payable Clerk to support a UK-based finance team from South Africa. You will make sure suppliers are paid accurately and on time, and that the ledger tells the truth.

It is a good fit if you are careful with numbers, comfortable chasing a discrepancy until it resolves, and take quiet satisfaction in a clean reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

Process supplier invoices and match them to purchase orders.
Prepare payment runs and resolve queries before they hold things up.
Reconcile supplier statements and investigate differences.
Maintain accurate records in the accounting system.
Liaise with suppliers professionally over payment queries.
Support month-end close with clean, complete data.

What You Will Need

Experience with accounts payable, bookkeeping or a similar finance role.
Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.
Solid spreadsheet skills and strong attention to detail.
Clear written and spoken English.
A methodical approach to reconciliation work.

Working Hours

Full-time position.
Fully remote, based in South Africa.
09:00–17:00 UK time (11:00–19:00 SAST).
