Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities.


Prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering are key aspects of the role.


The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development according to the applicable regulations and policies.


Promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.


Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients.


Serves as a primary or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment, considering safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact.


Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources.


Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications.


Shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing and supplies.


Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and policies.


Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model, contributing to improvement initiatives and peer review practices.


Engages in professional development and continuing nursing education.


Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.


Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.


Follows the organization's values and performs other assigned duties.


Required skills include collaboration, communication (verbal and written), judgment, critical thinking, organizational understanding, planning, and problem solving.


Preferred skills include previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.


Education requirements include a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, with a preference for a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.


Preferred certifications include professional certification in a related nursing specialty and other relevant skills certifications as required by the assigned unit.
