Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Overall 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience. License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: BLS ACLS Must-Have: Current acute care experience within the last 12 months 1 year of PCU experience Description: This position involves caring for adult and geriatric patients. The primary patient population consists of newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. The staffing ratio aims for 1:4 but may be adjusted to 1:5 based on unit needs. There is a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols. Patient fall prevention is also a priority. Ideal candidates will have experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration are required. Experience with rapid response teams, feeding tube care, central line management, and PICC line management is advantageous. The candidate should be capable of computerized charting using EPIC. Travel experience is required. Preference is given to candidates with oncology experience, although it is not mandatory. Candidates must provide two professional references, with at least one reference from a managerial position. This role requires cooperation with credentialing processes.
