Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., plus rotating weekend on-call phone coverage
Compensation: $25.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on direct experience
Employment Type: Full-Time, Nonexempt

Important Experience Requirement

Applicants must have direct experience recruiting, staffing, scheduling, or onboarding healthcare employees.

General office, customer service, retail, or non-healthcare recruiting experience alone is not sufficient for this position.

A current or previous CNA certification or California LVN license is preferred but not required.

Position Summary

 

Era Life Care and Era Home Health are seeking an experienced Healthcare Recruiter & Staffing Coordinator to recruit, onboard, and staff qualified healthcare employees for workers’ compensation, catastrophic-injury, private-duty, and home-care cases.

The primary focus of this position is recruiting dependable RNs, LVNs, CNAs, Personal Care Attendants, and caregivers and matching them with appropriate client assignments.

The position also includes new-hire onboarding, orientation and training, payroll shift verification, collection of Daily Activity Notes, and rotating weekend on-call phone coverage.

This is not an entry-level recruiting or general office position.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Healthcare Recruiting and Staffing

• Recruit, screen, interview, and hire RNs, LVNs, CNAs, Personal Care Attendants, caregivers, and Home Health Aides.
• Staff workers’ compensation, catastrophic-injury, private-duty, and home-care cases.
• Match employees with cases based on experience, clinical or caregiving skills, availability, location, schedule, and client needs.
• Maintain an active pipeline of qualified and available healthcare employees.
• Recruit for twelve-hour shifts, overnight assignments, weekends, call-outs, and difficult-to-staff locations.
• Post targeted healthcare employment advertisements.
• Conduct telephone screenings and in-person interviews.
• Follow up consistently with qualified applicants until onboarding is completed.
• Assist with urgent staffing needs and replacement coverage.
• Maintain an updated list of employees available for immediate assignments.

Onboarding, Orientation, and Training

• Manage the new-hire onboarding process from job offer through placement.
• Conduct new-hire orientations and employee training.
• Verify licenses, certifications, CPR cards, background clearances, health documents, references, and employment records.
• Train employees on attendance, call-out procedures, timekeeping, client expectations, documentation, and company policies.
• Ensure employees are fully cleared before being assigned to a client.
• Provide retraining when employees fail to follow required procedures.

Payroll and Daily Activity Notes

• Verify scheduled shifts against employee clock-in and clock-out records.
• Identify missed punches, overlapping shifts, early departures, unauthorized overtime, and other discrepancies.
• Follow up with employees and supervisors regarding inaccurate or missing time records.
• Collect Daily Activity Notes from Personal Care Attendants and caregivers.
• Review notes for dates, hours, signatures, services provided, and completeness.
• Follow up daily on missing, late, or incomplete documentation.
• Maintain accurate records in WellSky and company tracking systems.

Weekend On-Call Phone Coverage

• Participate in required rotating weekend on-call phone coverage.
• Remain reachable and responsive during assigned weekends.
• Answer employee, client, and staffing calls and text messages.
• Handle employee call-outs and locate qualified replacement coverage.
• Respond to urgent scheduling and client concerns.
• Escalate serious or unresolved situations to management.
• Document all weekend calls, staffing changes, incidents, and follow-up actions.

Required Qualifications

• At least two years of recent experience in healthcare recruiting, home-care staffing, home-health staffing, private-duty staffing, skilled-nursing staffing, or a closely related healthcare setting.
• Direct knowledge of RN, LVN, CNA, Personal Care Attendant, caregiver, and Home Health Aide responsibilities.
• Experience recruiting, screening, scheduling, onboarding, or coordinating healthcare employees.
• Ability to match qualified employees with client-specific care needs.
• Strong telephone interviewing and candidate follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage several open positions and cases simultaneously.
• Ability to remain calm and organized during call-outs and urgent staffing situations.
• Comfortable holding employees accountable for attendance, documentation, timekeeping, and compliance.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work in person at the Covina office.
• Availability for rotating weekend on-call phone coverage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or previous CNA certification or California LVN license.
• Experience staffing workers’ compensation or catastrophic-injury cases.
• Experience staffing private-duty or 24-hour home-care cases.
• Experience recruiting RNs, LVNs, CNAs, and Personal Care Attendants.
• Experience conducting employee orientation and training.
• Familiarity with WellSky Personal Care or similar healthcare software.
• Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.
