- Fabricating parts with CNC mills, CNC lathes, CNC routers, manual machine equipment, lasers, 3D Printers and waterjets
- Capable of producing parts with -- in some cases ±0.020mm or tighter -- critical tolerances
- Read schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings to determine methods of manufacturing and assembly
- Recognize the need and develop, design and build appropriate tooling and fixtures
- Gather and prepare tools and materials required to complete projects
- Capable of managing multiple concurrent projects on tight timelines
- Maintain machine shop and fabrication equipment
- Proactively maintain supplies of hardware components, equipment, etc. to customer expectations. Highlight all potential shortages and proactively work to ensure minimal interruption
- Assembly of precision electro/mechanical systems including tight tolerance mechanical assemblies
- Align, fit, and assemble component parts, using hand tools, power tools, fixtures and appropriate shop tools
- Cover all aspects of a project's requirements from conceptual design, 3D CAD, drafting, fabrication to assembly
- Have a firm understanding of a variety of materials and their properties.
- Utilize this knowledge to make informed decisions on materials to use for components.
