Salary $17.75/Hour Minimum Bargaining Unit Teamsters Report Times 6:00am to 2:30pm Daily Hours 8.5 (8 Paid) Work Year 12 months Supervisor Director of Facility Operations Civil Service Title Maintenance Mechanic III Minimum Requirements Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus six (6) months of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent work experience in one (1) or more of the electrical, mechanical, or construction trades; OR, Graduation from a technical high school or trade school with a major in the electrical, mechanical or construction trades. NOTE: Additional experience may be substituted for the high school diploma on a year-for-year basis. Desired Qualifications Good knowledge of common practices, tools, terminology and safety precautions of construction, mechanical and facility maintenance trades; Ability to work from plans, specifications, drawings and rough sketches; Ability to follow oral and written instructions; Ability to work with others; Good hand and eye coordination. Position Summary/Responsibilities Serve as a General Handyman performing a variety of semi-skilled duties and assists a skilled worker in the trade of plumbing; Operates vehicles, powered or motorized equipment; Work with other Trades/Groups as assigned; Helps to install and repair general plumbing equipment (sinks, toilets, eyewash, showers, lift stations…); Assist in metal and carpentry fabrication, repairs and re-finishing; Assist in cleaning and repairing mechanical equipment (pipe lines, valves and traps…); Assist with repairs to municipal water and/or sewage systems and lift stations; Assist in performing general grounds maintenance work (grading and seeding, mowing, and snow and ice removal…); Other duties as assigned.
