This role involves teaching a variety of Recreation and Leisure Enrichment classes across different age and skill levels. The instructor may specialize in one or more program areas and is expected to deliver effective and enjoyable instructional experiences. The role also includes administrative duties and may involve assuming the responsibilities in the absence of a Recreation Specialist II when necessary.**ESSENTIAL EXAMPLES OF DUTIES***The following illustrates examples of some of the essential duties and responsibilities of the Recreation Specialist Instructor I (P/T). There may be other essential functions, not listed below, in order to accomplish the tasks as presented by the Supervisor.** Supervise and engage participants during program activities.* Deliver group instruction across various recreational disciplines, following defined program outlines and goals.* Evaluate participant progress and maintain accurate attendance and performance records.* Set up and clean up classrooms, studios, or activity spaces, including responsibility for facility opening and closing when required.* Implement program components and carry out assignments as directed by supervisory staff.* Promptly report any incidents or safety concerns to supervisory personnel.* Adhere to all City of Hialeah policies and procedures, particularly those concerning safety and risk management.* Perform additional duties as assigned.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS***The following are some of the physical requirements associated with this position.
