Accounting Coordinator

Accounting Coordinator We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Coordinator to join a well-established physicians group in Birmingham. This position is responsible for supporting the organization's day-to-day accounting functions while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Responsibilities: Perform daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities Prepare vendor payments by accruing expenses, obtaining payment approvals, reconciling vendor accounts, and administering payments Provide support for compliance-related activities, including licensing, audits, and 1099 preparation Prepare and mail A/P checks while maintaining scanning priorities Update daily bank account ledgers Assist with monthly bank reconciliations Receive, code, post, and scan daily deposits Prepare and maintain accounting documents and financial records Assist with journal entries Research, track, and resolve accounting discrepancies and documentation issues Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned Qualifications: 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience Experience with QuickBooks Desktop, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience required Strong understanding of accounting principles Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
