Clinical Dietitian (Outpatient/Primary Care)

Role Description The Clinical Dietitian (Outpatient/Primary Care) is a full-time, on-site role based in the Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area. This role provides nutrition assessment, education, and counseling to patients across the lifespan within primary care and outpatient clinic settings. Daily responsibilities include reviewing medical histories and lab data, developing individualized nutrition care plans, documenting services in the electronic health record, and collaborating with medical providers, nursing staff, and behavioral health professionals. The Clinical Dietitian will support chronic disease management (such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity), assist with preventative health initiatives, and participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and quality improvement efforts. The role may also involve group education sessions, outreach activities, and contribution to nutrition-related protocols and patient education materials. Qualifications Registered dietitian, active license in Ohio Relevant clinical nutrition expertise, including experience in medical nutrition therapy within primary care or outpatient settings. Strong patient education and counseling skills, with the ability to communicate complex nutrition information in a clear, culturally sensitive manner. Proficiency in electronic health records, documentation standards, and coordination of care with interdisciplinary teams. Knowledge of chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity) and evidence-based nutrition guidelines. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential and current state licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as required in Ohio. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, demonstrating cultural humility and commitment to health equity. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment.
