Description:

The Garage Door Technician is the face of Precision Door Service, responsible for delivering outstanding customer experience while driving sales and service solutions. This role focuses on building trust with customers, assessing their needs, presenting repair and replacement options, and recommending the best solutions for their home. Successful technicians combine strong communication skills, professionalism, product knowledge, and consultative selling techniques to create satisfied customers and grow branch revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver an exceptional customer experience during every service appointment.
• Build rapport with customers and clearly explain repair needs and available solutions.
• Present repair and replacement options and recommend products and services that best fit customer needs.
• Generate and close sales opportunities through consultative selling.
• Provide accurate estimates and collect payment upon job completion.
• Educate customers on garage door systems, products, warranties, and maintenance options.
• Maintain strong product knowledge and stay current on company offerings.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance, service vehicle, and work environment.
• Participate in required training, safety meetings, and professional development.

• Proven experience in sales, customer service, or consultative selling, preferably in a home services or construction environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to confidently present recommendations and close sales with customers.

Working conditions

• Tasks are regularly performed inside and/or outside with potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes and/or poor ventilation, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature, and noise extremes, machinery and/or moving vehicles, vibrations, electric currents, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, gases or chemicals, oils and other cutting fluids, violence and/or disease, or pathogenic substances.

Physical requirements

Depending on the functional area of the assignment, tasks involve the ability to medium to heavy work. As a technician, you must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. and carry up to 50ft. Physical efforts usually involve lifting,

*This is a commission-based role with an average earning potential of $80,000–$140,000 per year. Actual earnings are based on individual performance and a variable commission rate of 15%-17% on net sales. Paid training is provided during the first 12 weeks to ensure your success at a pay range of $20.00 to $25.00. Training pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills & experience, among other factors.
