About the Position : This position is located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland at Kirk U.S. Army Health Clinic. Incumbent will be providing social work services at Patient Centered Medical Home.

Hours : Monday- Friday 0730-1630

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Help

• Provide targeted assessment and evaluation of presenting problem.
• Formulate evidence-based interventions for a wide range of mental health conditions.
• Collect bio-psycho-social information about patients.
• Document care and recommendations concisely in the medical record chart.
• Refer patients to Specialty Mental Health Care as needed.
• Participate in program activities such as huddles, provider meetings and trainings.
• Function as an integrated full-time team member in the primary care.

• This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random drug testing, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
• This position requires the incumbent to have Tuberculosis testing.
• This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position requires the incumbent to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
• This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Social Worker (Mental Health Consultant):

Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

AND

License: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted independent social work clinical licensure from a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. (Note: You must attach a copy of your license.)

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience which includes; 1.) Conducting mental health assessments and interventions; 2) performing bio-psycho-social evaluations; 3) Providing expert consultation to Primary Care Managers; and 4.) Developing individualized mental health treatment plans for patients. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
