Orthopedic Physical Therapist

The Physical Therapist provides medically prescribed therapy to relieve pain, improve function, and prevent disability after disease or injury. They assess patients, develop and implement treatment plans using exercises, manual therapy, heat, water, and electrical modalities, and utilize diagnostic tests for muscles, nerves, and joints. The therapist guides patients in exercises, gait training, and the use of assistive devices, while performing evaluations and tracking progress. They may supervise staff and train students or workers in therapy techniques. Requirements Education: Doctorate of Physical Therapy (post-2015), required licensure and certifications, including Basic Life Support and possibly Pelvic Health. Experience: Varies, with specific requirements depending on the role. Certifications: Licensure, BLS, and additional preferred certifications.
