Our client is a growing manufacturing organization looking to add an Assistant Controller to its finance and accounting leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who has built a strong foundation through progressive experience in public accounting and industry and is ready to take the next step toward a broader leadership role.
The ideal Assistant Controller candidate will bring a combination of technical accounting expertise, hands-on accounting experience, and the ability to understand how financial results connect to the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing business.
What You'll Do as Assistant Controller
- Partner with the Controller and accounting leadership team on the overall financial operations of the organization
- Oversee and support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Provide accounting guidance and analysis to operational leaders
- Support the accounting team with reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and account analysis
- Analyze financial results and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Assist with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and other manufacturing-related accounting activities
- Help strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting procedures
- Support external auditors and tax professionals
- Assist with special projects, process improvements, and other initiatives as the organization continues to grow
- Serve as a key member of the accounting leadership team with increasing responsibility and visibility

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Progressive accounting experience, ideally including a combination of public accounting and industry experience
- Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred
- CPA or public accounting experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation
- Ability to analyze financial information and communicate findings to both accounting and non-accounting professionals
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand the bigger picture
