We are working with a successful plaintiff personal injury/medical malpractice law firm in New York that is seeking an experienced Personal Injury/Medical Malpractice Paralegal to join their team out of their Rochester, NY office! You will be a primary point of contact for clients throughout the life of their case - from intake through resolution - and will work directly alongside our attorneys on every stage of litigation. Essential Job Duties: Manage plaintiff personal injury and medical malpractice cases from intake through settlement or trial including deadlines, scheduling, discovery and court filings Draft and prepare legal documents including: Summonses and Complaints Bills of Particulars Discovery demands and responses Basic motions and motion support Authorizations and subpoenas Trial exhibits and trial binders Gather and organize medical records, billing records, lien information and expert materials Coordinate with clients, medical providers, experts, and opposing counsel Track litigation deadlines, court appearances, depositions, and compliance conferences Schedule depositions Assist attorneys with expert exchanges, mediation submissions, and trial preparation File documents electronically through NYSCEF and maintain accurate electronic and physical case files Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in New York plaintiff personal injury and/or medical malpractice litigation Strong knowledge of New York State filing requirements Experience and familiarity with NYSCEF Proficiency in reviewing and organizing medical records Excellent drafting, organizational, and multitasking skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software Paralegal certificate or Bachelor's degree preferred Jobot is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
