Job Title Merchandiser – TJ Maxx (Downers Grove, IL) Job Description TJ Maxx – the world’s leading off‑price retailer – invites an experienced professional to manage receiving and merchandising standards in store. The role executes truck deliveries, ensures merchandise is properly tagged, hung, and coded, maintains a clean and organized store, and upholds merchandising philosophy and safety standards. Responsibilities also include training and mentoring associates on processing principles, coaching for productivity, and collaborating with management on associate training needs. Responsibilities Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing of merchandise onto the sales floor. Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded. Train and mentor associates on merchandising and processing principles. Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor. Monitor productivity of the team and coach as necessary. Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment. Maintain all organizational, cleanliness and recovery standards for the backroom area. Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs. Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates regarding priorities and progress. Promote credit and loyalty programs, safety awareness and participate in store shrink‑reduction goals and programs. Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures. Qualifications 1 year retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience. Flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to multi‑task and respond to changes in direction or unexpected situations. Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors. Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation. Capable of training others. Benefits Associate discount.
