Business Development Representative
REMOTE/HYBRID in the NYC or Tysons, VA areas. At Meibel, we're redefining how AI is deployed in production, with explainability, accountability, and trust built in from day one. We're looking for a Business Development Representative who thrives on outbound prospecting and wants to build pipeline in a market that's moving fast. You'll target VPs of Engineering, CTOs, and AI leaders at companies struggling to get AI working reliably in production, and you'll open doors that turn into real revenue. This role is built for someone who treats outbound as a craft: you know how to use modern tools (AI-assisted research, sequencing platforms, intent data) to find the right accounts and land the right message. You're not just sending volume. You're building pipeline that closes.
What You'll Do
- Own outbound pipeline generation for mid-market accounts through cold outreach, social selling, and creative prospecting
- Research target accounts to identify pain signals: teams building DIY AI stacks, companies scaling AI features, organizations with reliability and compliance requirements
- Craft personalized outreach sequences that speak to technical buyers in their language
- Leverage AI-enabled prospecting tools and manage agent-assisted outbound workflows
- Book qualified meetings for Account Executives and maintain tight feedback loops on lead quality
- Qualify inbound interest when it arises and route appropriately
- Represent Meibel at trade shows, conferences, and industry events
- Maintain clean CRM hygiene and accurate activity tracking in HubSpot
What We're Looking For
- 1-2 years of B2B outbound sales development experience, ideally in SaaS or technical products
- Proficiency with CRM systems, sequencing tools (Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo, or similar), and modern AI-powered prospecting tools
- Basic understanding of AI technology: you can speak credibly about LLMs, RAG, and why production AI is hard
- High activity output combined with message quality: you know volume matters, but so does relevance
- Strong written communication: your emails get opened and replied to
- Resilience and coachability: you learn from rejection and iterate fast
- Willingness to travel to trade shows, conferences, and customer events (approximately 5-7 times per year)
Bonus Points For
- Technical background or experience selling to engineering/technical personas
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted outbound tools (Clay, Lemlist, AI research agents)
- Track record of exceeding meeting quotas and generating pipeline that converts
- Experience at early-stage startups where you helped build the outbound playbook
- Familiarity with target verticals: construction, financial services, pharma, government
