Classification: Non-Exempt | Hourly Compensation: $23.00 - $25.00 / hour Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career to build a strong foundation in accounting operations, gain hands-on experience with financial data, and grow into a more independent role over time. You'll work closely with our accounting staff to support day-to-day transaction processing, reconciliations, and reporting.

What You'll Do

• Assist with recording journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts
• Enter, sort, and organize financial data accurately and efficiently
• Perform basic account reconciliations, comparing transactions and balances to identify and research discrepancies
• Support month-end close processes
• Flag and communicate any unusual or missing information to senior team members
• Track multiple ongoing tasks, deadlines, and follow-up items
• Take on additional responsibilities as skills and confidence develop

What Success Looks Like

• Journal entries and ledger data are recorded accurately and on time
• Discrepancies are identified, researched, and flagged promptly
• Month-end close tasks are completed accurately and within deadlines
• Assigned tasks and follow-ups are tracked and completed without missed deadlines
• Demonstrates steady growth in skills, confidence, and independence over time

Qualifications

Required

• Basic accounting knowledge, including an understanding of GAAP
• Microsoft Excel proficiency - comfortable with data entry, sorting/filtering, basic formulas (SUM, IF, LOOKUP, VLOOKUP), and PivotTables
• Strong attention to detail - able to spot discrepancies, enter information accurately, and double-check work before submitting
• Reconciliation skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organization and time-management skills - able to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and follow-ups simultaneously
• Strong communication skills - comfortable asking questions and clearly flagging missing or incorrect information
• Willingness to learn - open to feedback, eager to learn and motivated to work more independently over time

Preferred

• Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing)
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Acumatica) is a plus but not required
