Advisor, Technology Innovation (Finance) Our client, a premier international law firm, is seeking an Advisor, Technology Innovation (Finance) to join its Information Technology and Innovation team. This position may be based in any U.S. office and offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of legal technology, artificial intelligence, finance law, and practice innovation. This highly strategic role partners closely with finance attorneys, knowledge management professionals, legal operations teams, and technology stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement technology-driven solutions that enhance the delivery of legal services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of finance transactions, legal technology, and AI-enabled workflow development. Responsibilities Practice Innovation & Process Improvement Partner with attorneys, clients, and business professionals to evaluate transactional and finance workflows and identify opportunities for innovation Analyze processes involving: Deal intake and scoping Due diligence Financing transactions Credit agreements Ancillary transaction documents Signing and closing processes Post-closing obligations Transaction management Document challenges, user needs, best practices, and opportunities for operational improvement AI Workflow Development & Legal Technology Build, configure, and test workflows, prompt libraries, automations, and custom workspaces within legal AI platforms Develop practical, attorney-focused solutions utilizing platforms such as Harvey and other legal technology tools Collaborate with practice technology and innovation teams to transition successful prototypes into scalable solutions Customize technology solutions to support finance practice needs Strategy & Solution Development Assist with evaluation and prioritization of innovation initiatives and technology investments Translate business and practice needs into actionable technology requirements Support pilot programs and implementation of new legal technologies Present solutions and recommendations to attorneys and firm leadership Change Management & Adoption Drive adoption of legal technology tools through training, outreach, and engagement initiatives Work closely with Learning & Development and Practice Technology teams to improve attorney utilization and efficiency Monitor usage trends and identify opportunities to increase adoption and return on investment Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with: Knowledge Management Legal Project Management Practice Management Information Services Legal Risk Management Business Development & Marketing Technology and Innovation teams Coordinate with stakeholders to deliver holistic, practice-focused solutions Market Research & Innovation Monitor developments in legal technology, generative AI, and emerging vendors Identify trends and tools that may benefit finance and transactional practices Provide recommendations to firm leadership regarding future innovation opportunities Qualifications J.D., Master’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience Minimum 2+ years of experience in a law firm, legal department, or legal technology organization Strong understanding of finance and transactional legal practice, including: Finance transactions Credit facilities Due diligence processes Transaction execution and management Experience supporting finance attorneys, legal operations, legal technology initiatives, or transactional legal practices Required Experience Hands-on experience building and configuring workflows within legal AI platforms Experience with legal technology implementation and adoption initiatives Demonstrated ability to gather business requirements and translate them into technology solutions Experience working directly with attorneys and other legal stakeholders Familiarity with process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives Key Attributes Strong client-service mindset Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities Self-starter with excellent organizational skills Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously Collaborative and adaptable professional comfortable working across departments Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional discretion Why This Opportunity Our client offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of legal service delivery within a globally recognized law firm.
