Content Strategist

Job Title: Content Strategist (Part-Time | 30 Hours/Week) Pay Rate: $60/hr Hybrid on-site in NYC 4-month contract with potential to extend Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Content Strategist to lead the development and optimization of digital content that enhances the online experience for a diverse audience, including consumers, professionals, and internal stakeholders. In this role, you will create digital-first content strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and use data-driven insights to improve engagement, accessibility, and overall user experience. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing high-level content strategies and crafting compelling, user-centered copy that supports business objectives. Schedule Part-Time (30 hours/week), Monday–Thursday Key Responsibilities Develop and execute digital-first content strategies that support organizational goals and enhance the user experience across web properties. Create, update, and optimize website content to ensure it is clear, engaging, accessible, and user-focused. Partner with marketing, communications, product, design, and development teams to build seamless user journeys across new and existing digital experiences. Write and edit high-quality content, including messaging frameworks, headlines, body copy, microcopy, and calls-to-action. Lead and support content testing initiatives, including A/B testing and content experiments, to improve engagement and usability. Analyze qualitative and quantitative data, user research, and web analytics to inform content strategy and continuous optimization. Apply SEO best practices, accessibility standards, content governance principles, and UX writing techniques to maximize discoverability and user satisfaction. Establish and maintain content standards, governance processes, and best practices across digital channels. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality deliverables and meeting deadlines. Required Qualifications 5–7 years of experience in content strategy, content design, UX writing, digital content creation, or a related field. Experience developing content strategies that align business objectives with user needs and digital experiences. Strong ability to work independently, manage complex projects, and balance strategic planning with hands-on content creation. Experience using analytics, user research, and content performance data to guide decision-making. Strong understanding of SEO best practices, UX writing principles, accessibility standards (WCAG), and content governance. Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for multiple audiences. Understanding of user-centered design principles and the role of content in improving digital experiences. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, marketers, product managers, and subject matter experts. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma or GED. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, Digital Media, UX, or a related field. Experience working within the healthcare, life sciences, or nonprofit sectors. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), digital publishing platforms, and enterprise web environments. Experience supporting large-scale website redesigns or digital transformation initiatives. Knowledge of content experimentation, optimization strategies, and modern content design methodologies.
