Surgical Tech - Certified Surg Tech Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Technologist, Scrub Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Varied 12-hour day/evening shifts Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Not specified Certifications: Certification or eligible for certification preferred; BLS certification required Must-Have: High school diploma required.One year experience in the operating room as a Surgical Technician or Surgical Technician training required. Description:The Surgical Technician assists with surgical procedures through scrubbing duties.Responsible for preparing for procedures and assisting the operative team, including preparation and maintenance of sterile supplies.Creates and maintains a sterile field.Inspects sterile items for contamination before opening.Anticipates the need for equipment and supplies before the case begins.Assures all equipment is functioning before use.Operates and maintains mechanical, electrical, and air-powered equipment according to manufacturer's instructions.Scrubs all surgical procedures and understands the special needs, techniques, and requirements of the individual surgeon.Has the ability to scrub specialty surgeries without the presence of a sales representative, including sports medicine and trauma.Assists the RN with the completion of operative charge and recording of hardware used during the procedure.Collects specimens and cultures by verifying the source and correct tissue identification with the surgeon.We can provide dorm-style housing in completely self-sufficient apartments for a monthly cost, depending on availability.Each apartment has its own private kitchen and bathroom.All apartments are furnished with living area furniture and counter stools.There is Wi-Fi and cable throughout the apartments.Amenities include a pool, ping-pong, a common area, and a weight room.Join a team of highly skilled medical and nursing staff in a truly amazing location.This opportunity offers a balance of work and outdoor lifestyle.Experience year-round outdoor recreational activities.There are excellent schools and a local community college with a vibrant theater and music scene.Work-life balance is valued to enjoy the surrounding area and all it has to offer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
