Senior Inspector

ACRT Pacific, LLC. is seeking a Senior Vegetation Management Inspector (SVMI) to support Vegetation Management Inspector (VMI) duties, supervise tree clearance crews, and ensure compliance with PG&E Vegetation Management Standards. The position is safety‑sensitive and requires residency within 50 miles of Chico or Oroville, CA. Responsibilities Perform inspections, audits, and monitoring of contractor performance. Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of assigned tree clearance crews. Serve as liaison between clients, tree crews, and customers. Resolve obstacles to ensure safe, cost‑effective, efficient, and timely completion of work. Manage day‑to‑day activities to keep personnel focused on assigned tasks and verify appropriate scope, equipment, and documentation. Act as the VM contact for new business and re‑construction work requested by the Energy Delivery organization. Approve scheduling and scope changes in the field with PG&E representative approval. Encourage public, contractor, and employee safety by promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with all safety rules, regulations, and standards. Perform and document Safety Observations and Good Catches. Audit work performed by VMIs to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Assist with training and onboarding of VM Inspectors. Support PG&E Work Verification team to ensure observations are addressed promptly. Maintain relationships with public agencies (Caltrans, CalFire, USFS, BLM) and PG&E’s tree contractors. Patrol distribution or transmission circuits and prescribe work to maintain compliance for at least one calendar year. Determine when trimming or removal is required and assess hazard potential of trees. Ensure work complies with PG&E Vegetation Management Standards, project specifications, permits, and safety requirements. Use PG&E’s VMDSRs for reporting and data management. Perform quality check audits on assigned VMIs focusing on field compliance and data integrity. Assist in outage investigations, fire and incident investigations, and customer claims investigations as requested. Perform emergency response duties as directed by the PG&E representative. Qualifications TRAQ Certification. High School diploma or GED. Class C driver’s license. Experience: Must meet one of the following: 5 years as a tree crew climber/tree crew foreman with at least 2 years of line clearance certification. 5 years as a Vegetation Management Inspector and Certified Arborist. 5 years as a Registered Professional Forester. 5 years as a Utility Inspector (or higher classification) with at least 1 year of vegetation management experience. 4 years of honorable military service with at least 1 additional year of vegetation management inspection experience. Strong communication, organizational, and customer‑service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with data‑collection devices and GIS software is desired. Ability to work in varied terrain, inclement weather, and flexible schedules (including nights and weekends). Capacity to read and follow maps; ability to learn company‑specific software systems. Training Requirements OSHA 30‑hour construction safety overview (within 6 months of start date). Certified Tree Safety Professional (CTSP) or Certified Arborist (CA) with TRAQ certificate (within 6 months of test eligibility). 911 Standby training (within 1 month of start date). QA/QC working knowledge (within 1 month of start date). Computer training: forms, uploading documents, accessing GIS (within 1 month of start date). Compensation Base rate: $52.87 per hour. In‑lieu benefits amount: $13.22 per hour (total $66.09 per hour). Union members receive an additional $50.00 daily subsistence payment for each day worked in excess of 4 hours.
