Neel-Schaffer, an Engineering News-Record Top 200 Design firm with offices in nine states, is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a Mid‑Level CEI Inspector to join our growing engineering firm. This position will be based in our Nashville (TN) Office or the surrounding area. Travel may be required on a temporary basis as project locations change. Neel-Schaffer strives to fit applicants with projects to minimize commute time or temporary relocation. We will work with you. This position involves skilled sub‑professional engineering work in the field and office. The Mid‑Level CEI Inspector will act independently in providing inspection of specific parts of contract work, such as asphalt laydown operations, grading, or concrete inspection. The Mid‑Level CEI Inspector may assist other inspectors on larger projects in performing specific inspection tasks. Education And/or Experience Three to five years of experience in Construction Engineering and Inspection on road and/or bridge transportation construction projects is preferred. Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Travel may be required. Basic computer skills are required; including knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Preferred Certifications TDOT HMA Certified Roadway Inspector. Asphalt Plant Technician. Work Zone Traffic Control/Flagging. 10 HR OSHA Construction Safety. TDOT Radiation Safety & Nuclear Guage. TDOT Soils & Aggregate Technician. TDOT Concrete Technician/ ACI Grade 1.
