This contract opportunity begins September 1st and is projected to run through October 30th, with the possibility of extending to the end of December. You’ll be working closely with students who benefit from specialized literacy instruction, leveraging your training and passion to foster meaningful growth.

Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teaching certification (grades 5-12)
• DESE licensure in Special Education
• Orton Gillingham or Wilson Reading certification
• Completion of a one-year Orton Gillingham practicum
• Previous experience working with high school-aged learners preferred

What you’ll do:

• Provide reading intervention using Orton Gillingham methodology to a caseload that may include up to 30 students, with the possibility of adding rising 8th graders
• Implement individualized education plans, assess student progress, and adjust instruction as needed
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop targeted strategies for each student
• Maintain documentation and monitor compliance with all special education requirements
• Contribute positively to a supportive school culture focused on equity, inclusion, and academic achievement
