Job Description
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in managing the flow of goods entering and leaving the warehouse. This position focuses on efficient inventory control, coordinating shipments, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of received items. The clerk operates within standard working hours and collaborates closely with procurement teams, utilizing various warehouse management systems including proprietary software, SAP, and Oracle WMS. Forklift operation skills are also essential for handling shipments safely and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate records
- Process orders and coordinate daily shipments, handling less than 50 shipments daily
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods for quality and accuracy
- Enter shipment and inventory data into proprietary and third-party warehouse management systems including SAP and Oracle WMS
- Prepare and maintain shipment documentation
- Operate equipment such as forklifts to move and store goods safely
- Communicate with customers and internal teams, including procurement, to resolve issues and coordinate shipments
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in shipping and receiving
- Familiarity with shipping software and warehouse management systems
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
