The Walt Disney Company’s Controllership team is seeking a Financial Accounting Analyst (FAA) who will be an exceptional addition to our team. This position will report to the Manager, Financial Accounting with direct exposure to the Director. This position will support the accounting and financial reporting aspects of The Walt Disney Company’s subscription offerings. Responsibilities Support the accountingfunctionofourSVOD,Live TV,and PremiumAdd-Onsubscription offeringsOwn the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations for key balance sheet and expense accounts during the quarter-end close process Reviewdistribution, bundling, andcarriage agreementsand work with the SFAA to operationalizecontractual terms during the preparation ofmonthly/quarterlylicense fee, revenue share, and bounty feeaccrualsandmonthly statementcalculationsBuild, maintain, and enhancerelationships withinternal and externalbusiness partnersPerform analytical reviews and variance analyses for key financial and operating metrics Troubleshoot accounting issues in the system and propose solutions to management, utilizing judgment as to when items need to be escalated Identify opportunities for process improvements, including the use of AI and otherefficiencytools (e.g.,Alteryxand the like),and help test andimplement solutionsto obtain efficienciesEffectively operate internal controls andhelp performupdates toSOX process documentationas needed Provide support for the annual financial statement audit Support ad hoc analyses, special projects, and business initiatives Basic Qualifications 1+ years of experience in public accounting Good working knowledge of US GAAP Proficient with Microsoft business suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook Excellent verbal and written communication skills Organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working in fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Prior accounting/auditing experience CPA or CPA candidate Industry experience in media and/or entertainment Experience with SAP financials Required Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field #twdcmedia and#corp_media The hiring range for this position in California is $79,100 to $96,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
