Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

The Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients across various specialized units. This role requires strong clinical skills, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Hours per week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Rotation: Required

Patient Ratios

• 1:2 or 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio

Floating Requirements

The RN will be required to float within their scope of practice to meet the needs of various pediatric units, including:

• Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU)
• Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric ICU experience required
• New candidates are considered if they meet the experience requirements
• Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License is required
• Certifications required: BLS and PALS (American Heart Association only)
• Preferred experience: ECMO and CRRT

Additional Information

• Block Schedule Accommodation: Requires manager's approval based on unit needs
• Local Radius: Candidates must reside within a 60-mile radius
• RTO Restrictions: All requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application
• Guaranteed Hours: Management may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
