Registered Nurse OB ED

Job Summary As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Obstetrics Emergency Department (OBED) unit, you will coordinate and provide patient care for all assigned patients. You will conduct initial and ongoing assessment of the patient and family, develop individualized patient care plans, provide family-centered education, identify and correct variances from the plan, and facilitate discharge planning and teaching. Responsibilities Complete an admission interview upon patient arrival and document the patient assessment. Identify changes in the patient’s condition and report them promptly to the physician or charge nurse. Assess and document patient educational needs and provide instructions upon admission and throughout hospitalization. Provide psychological and social support to the patient and family. Facilitate interdisciplinary discharge planning. Accurately administer and document medications legibly. Keep the physician and/or Clinical Nurse Coordinator aware of significant information or changes related to the patient and family. Continuously evaluate the plan of care to determine the need for modifications. Provide individualized nursing interventions based on the plan of care and document patient responses to interventions. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 90 days of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification obtained within 90 days of employment start date. Registered Nurse (RN) license. Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma. No travel required. At least 1 year of experience.
