Home Infusion Registered Nurse (PRN)

Job Title Home Infusion Registered Nurse (PRN) Location and Hours Joplin, MO, USA – 2‑hour radius from Joplin to see patients in their homes. 5‑10+ hours per week, depending on availability. PRN role with no guaranteed schedule; average Pay $42 – $46 per hour (DOE). Includes door‑to‑door compensation and an additional $0.48 per mile for travel. Responsibilities Administer specialty medications via IV, subcutaneous injections, or other methods as prescribed. Monitor patients during the infusion process for adverse reactions or complications. Assess patients’ medical history, allergies, and current medications before administering treatments. Evaluate vital signs and document any potential risks or side effects. Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects, and emergency instructions. Schedule and conduct follow‑up calls or visits to monitor progress and delayed side effects. Maintain accurate records of infusion, patient responses, adverse events, and education instructions. Collaborate with nursing, pharmacy, and clinical staff to coordinate patient care and treatment plans. Prepare and handle medications following safety protocols, verify correct medication and dosage. Ensure sterile technique and adherence to infection control guidelines. Manage medication inventories and coordinate with pharmacy for supply. Support insurance verification or authorization processes for specialty medications. Additional Responsibilities for IgCN‑Certified Nurses Participate in CSI’s Immunoglobulin Mentorship Program if operationally needed. Serve as a mentor to local or regional nursing staff, providing guidance and coaching. Assist with training activities, review educational materials, infusion protocols, and patient care standards. Observe clinical practice, assess competency, and document mentorship activities. Qualifications Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Missouri. Minimum 2 years of RN experience; 1 year in ER/ICU/Infusion preferred. 1 year experience accessing PIV lines, ports, and maintaining PICC lines. 1 year experience with infusion in hospital or home health setting (preferred). Ability to travel within a 2‑hour radius of Joplin and meet patient appointments. Screening Successful completion of a drug screen (including medical and recreational marijuana) is required prior to employment.
