Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse in Overland Park, Kansas. This role involves providing specialized care for patients with moderate physiologic instability, such as those experiencing COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, or trach patients. The position emphasizes cardiac and pulmonary patient management, with a focus on monitoring and supporting patients every 2-4 hours in a 18-bed unit.

Job Details

• Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Certification; Kansas licensure; 0 years minimum experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in telemetry or pulmonary step-down units desired.
• Responsibilities:
  • Deliver oxygen therapy including nasal cannula, BIPAP/CPAP, and AirVo support.
  • Conduct vital signs every 4 hours and continuous cardiac monitoring.
  • Perform blood glucose and neurological monitoring as indicated, including NIHSS assessments.
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIH.
• Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates should attach unit-specific policies and standards of care.
