Parts Outside Salesperson

JOB SUMMARY:


This position generates and captures part sales outside the organization from both new and existing customers.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Schedules appointments with current and prospective customers to review their inventories for growth opportunities.
• Prepares quotes and presentations.
• Sets a delivery route.
• Continuously updates customer base on product changes and enhancements.
• Communicates orders between the customer and the company.
• Attends conference and trade shows to represent the company in a professional and positive manner.
• Coordinates joint sales calls with our suppliers.
• Maintains acceptable driving records that reflect a safety-conscious attitude.
• Embrace and models the Company's Core Values.
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and regular hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; however, this position can regularly require long hours.


Travel

Travel is required within the assigned region. Periodic overnight travel required to attend trade shows, customer meetings, and OEM sales meetings.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma, some college preferred
• Previous sales experience a must, preferably in the bus industry
• Must possess a valid, unrestricted California driver's license
• Maintenance of an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Prior product familiarization/knowledge.

Physical Activity Requirements

The position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching or stretching throughout the workday. Climbing or balancing is not required, and crouching or stooping occurs only occasionally. Speaking is a regular part of job duties and is required more than two-thirds of the time.

Hand and Finger Dexterity

Manual dexterity is essential for this position, with frequent hand use and repetitive finger motions such as typing. These activities support the core functions of the role and occur regularly throughout the day.

Lifting Requirements

The role frequently requires lifting or moving items weighing up to 10 pounds and up to 25 pounds. The position does not require lifting over 25 pounds, nor does it involve heavy or strenuous physical exertion.

Sensory Requirements

The job requires regular hearing and corrected vision to perform essential tasks. Close, distance, and color vision are needed frequently, while peripheral vision and depth perception are required occasionally. The ability to maintain focus is also required on a regular basis.

Environmental Conditions

The position may involve frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. However, the role does not require working in wet or humid conditions, extreme heat or cold, or hazardous environments. There is no required exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, fire, electrical hazards, vibration, or loud noise.
